Six Years Strong: Superheat’s Commitment to a Safe Workplace
As we’ve consistently highlighted, safety is more than a priority at Superheat—it’s a core value of our operations and culture. Achieving six straight years without a recordable injury from 2019 to 2024 underscores our relentless commitment to protecting our team and clients. This remarkable milestone, which we hold in the highest regard, shows everyone’s collective dedication at Superheat.
Reflecting on this success, Regional Health and Safety Manager Bret Cadenhead remarked, “Reaching six years without an OSHA recordable injury is a true testament to the incredible dedication and teamwork we’ve cultivated. It’s not merely about compliance—it’s about genuinely caring for each other every day to ensure everyone goes home safely. This shared achievement stems from the commitment and vigilance each team member brings. Let’s continue building on this success, keeping safety at the forefront of everything we do.”
We have faced various challenges, from adapting to evolving safety standards to managing high-stress projects across different environments. Despite these hurdles, our emphasis on thorough training, clear communication, and robust accountability has been key to this achievement.

Superheat’s leadership in safety extends beyond our workforce to our innovative technology and equipment. Our Superheat SmartPoint™, SmartGen, and SmartFurnace consoles are designed for complete wireless remote operation through our global Superheat SmartCenters™, ensuring swift response in emergencies and compliance with the highest safety standards UL & CSA. Our latest innovation, the Superheat SmartLink™, brings additional safety features to our induction heating services and rentals. Unlike traditional heat treatment methods involving open flames or explosive gases, induction heating uses cool-to-the-touch coils, significantly enhancing safety, especially for welders during preheat, and we are excited to bring these services to our customers throughout 2025.
This success isn’t just a matter of luck; it’s the result of thousands of smart, safety-focused decisions made every day.

Dedication to safety excellence is reflected in the continuous evolution of our safety programs, integrating cutting-edge technology, comprehensive training, and a culture of accountability. Over the past three years, our safety initiatives have advanced significantly, focusing on proactive measures, field-level feedback, and technological integration.
Key Developments Include:
Enhanced Training Programs: Specialized safety training for high-risk tasks, including comprehensive induction safety modules with hands-on exercises and real-world scenario simulations.
Technology Integration: We are adopting advanced fleet management systems to monitor our driver behavior, reduce unsafe driving habits, and ensure timely safety alerts.
Data-Driven Decisions: Rigorous reporting and analytics systems to track incidents, near misses, and leading indicators, allowing us to identify trends and mitigate risks.
Stronger Accountability: A revised reporting structure for motor vehicle accidents (MVA) and injuries involving Executives, Regional Managers, and Safety Leads fosters a culture of responsibility.
Cultural Shift: Safety summits, consistent communication, and celebrating safety success stories have cultivated a safety-first mindset across our workforce.
One of the most impactful implementations over the last year has been the modernization of the Vessel Checklist (VCL) protocol. This proactive measure ensures thorough pre-job safety planning between our clients and Superheat personnel, focusing on safeguarding both the client and our assets. The VCL protocol has reduced damage and incidents, thus ensuring the safe operation of equipment and protecting personnel during the heat treatment process.
Engagement across all organizational levels is essential to fostering a robust safety culture. At Superheat, we have implemented a multifaceted approach that ensures every employee, from senior leadership to frontline workers, is actively involved in our safety initiatives. Leadership demonstrates a clear commitment to safety through regular communication, participation in safety initiatives, and leading by example. Employees are actively engaged in safety initiatives through our SWAT program, regular safety meetings, and risk assessment and audit participation. Celebrating milestones, such as six years of zero recordable injuries, reinforces the importance of safety and builds momentum for continued efforts.
Our number one leading indicator for safety culture is our Safe Work Action Team (SWAT), an employee-owned, behavior-based observation program. Participation is rewarded monthly, and top observations are celebrated via the company dashboard and social media platforms. In 2024, we saw a significant increase of 1,072 observations compared to the previous year, indicating a robust safety culture.
As we celebrate this incredible achievement, we recognize our success is a collective effort. Everyone at Superheat contributes to cultivating a culture where safety is second nature, from our field operators to our innovation teams, and we can’t thank you enough.
Looking ahead, we remain focused on maintaining this high standard and ensuring safety remains integral to every aspect of our operations. We are committed to further advancing our safety standards and reinforcing our position as the Better.Safer.Faster™ provider in the on-site heat treatment industry.
