Employee Spotlights
Since joining Superheat in March 2023, Elizabeth Terry has progressed from Field Technician to Regional Equipment Manager, taking on greater responsibility for asset tracking, mobilization, demobilization, vendor coordination, and equipment operations. She was drawn to Superheat by its growth opportunities, supportive environment, and family-oriented culture. Elizabeth enjoys the combination of problem-solving, teamwork, and supporting field personnel through equipment troubleshooting and operational support. She describes Superheat as advanced, team-oriented, and safety-focused, and encourages anyone considering a career here to come ready to learn, work hard, be reliable, and always prioritize safety. Outside of work, she enjoys the gym, basketball, and spending time with her wife and fur baby.
With over more than 20 years with Superheat, Jorge Gudino has built a career defined by growth, leadership, and operational excellence. Starting as a Field Technician in 2005, he advanced to Site Manager before being promoted to Area Manager in 2022. Jorge enjoys working closely with Site Managers and office teams to solve challenges, safely execute projects, and deliver results for clients. He is especially proud of leading a major turnaround project in 2019, where his team completed more than 1,000 weld heat treatments within a demanding schedule while achieving zero injuries or incidents. Away from work, Jorge enjoys spending time with his family and cheering on his children in taekwondo and soccer.
What Hilda Osorio enjoys most about Superheat is the combination of innovative technology and a supportive team environment. Since joining the company in September 2023, she has gained extensive knowledge that allows her to help train new operators and support their development. Hilda was originally attracted to Superheat's strong reputation and remains fascinated by the ability to remotely control equipment located across the globe. She is especially proud of the company's continued growth and expansion into countries around the world, serving increasingly larger clients. In her spare time, Hilda enjoys travelling, watching movies, and volunteering in her community.
Since joining Superheat in 2016, James Nixon has built his career through a commitment to learning and continuous development. Starting as an Administrator with no prior heat treatment experience, he progressed to Panel Operator before advancing to his current role as Lead Operator. Today, James focuses on training and process development within the SmartCenter™, helping Panel Operators build the skills and confidence needed to succeed. He is particularly proud of his role in transitioning SmartCenter™ resource materials to an online platform, improving efficiency and accessibility for the team. Outside of work, James enjoys camping, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and spending time outdoors with his family.
Sometimes the best career paths begin with curiosity. After working in residential construction, Joe was looking for a fresh start when he heard about Superheat and discovered the world of heat treatment. What started as a new opportunity grew into a rewarding career, progressing from SSE to Midwest/Northeast Regional HSE Manager. Today, Joe is passionate about promoting a strong safety culture and leading by example to help ensure every employee returns home safely. He values the support found throughout the organization and takes pride in working alongside field crews who contribute to Superheat's success. Outside of work, Joe enjoys sports, camping, creating 3D models, and making the most of Chicago's warmer months.
Brian Ong joined Superheat in 2011 as a Field Technician and through mentorship and dedication has become a Unit Supervisor, Project Manager, and is currently working as a Site Manager out of New Lenox, IL, USA. When asked what attracted him to a career with Superheat he said, “The opportunity to explore a trade I could excel at and that would lead me to future career opportunities.” Brian’s favorite thing about working with Superheat is the environment and his coworkers. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.
Since joining Superheat in 2011 as a Panel Operator, Mel Wilken has built an impressive career through a commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth. Over the years, she has advanced through roles including Continuous Improvement Coordinator, Project Data Supervisor, and now PMO Manager and Corporate Process Improvement specialist based in Kincardine, Ontario. Attracted by Superheat’s reputation for career development and growth opportunities, Mel enjoys working alongside talented colleagues while contributing to the company’s ongoing innovation and pursuit of industry excellence. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and dog, volunteering, coaching, exploring the outdoors, playing guitar, and writing short stories.
Carlos joined a previous Superheat business unit in March 2017 as a Senior Software Engineer and now leads the team responsible for developing and maintaining the software that powers heat treatment rigs, portions of the SAM platform, field programmers, and production test equipment used for calibration and testing. With more than 30 years of software development experience across both product and service sectors in Spain and the UK, Carlos brings extensive technical expertise to the solutions his team develops. Outside of work, he enjoys watching rugby and travelling, including trips to Japan and France to experience Rugby World Cup action firsthand.
Tom Holmes joined Superheat in 2012 and is a Project Manager out of our England, UK office. When asked what attracted him to a career with Superheat, he said the opportunity to make a better life for him and his family. His favorite thing about working with us is traveling to different worksites and meeting new people. When Tom isn’t at work he loves going on long walks with his family and keeping fit in the gym.
Angela Martin joined us all the way back in 2008 as a Business Development Manager in our USA Central Region. She was looking for a career change that would allow her to be in a more regional position as opposed to something stationary. Her favorite thing about working with Superheat is the Team around her – everyone is greatly supportive which allows her to excel in what she does. When Angela isn’t working, she loves to travel, hike, boat, hunt, and fish – essentially anything active in the outdoors!
Since joining Superheat in 2009 as a Panel Operator, Matt Ropp has grown his career to become a Shift Supervisor in Kincardine, Ontario. He was drawn to the company by its reputation as a great place to work, built on strong teams and good people. Matt values the camaraderie within his department and enjoys the flexibility of shift work, which helps him maintain a healthy work-life balance. Outside of work, he is an avid sports enthusiast who enjoys both watching and playing sports, particularly football. During the summer months, you'll often find him spending time at his cottage.
For Caghen Wisdom, one of the most rewarding parts of working at Superheat is helping others grow. Since joining the company in 2019, he has progressed from Field Technician to Project Manager and now Project Design Manager, supported by opportunities for continuous development. Drawn to Superheat's advanced technology, skilled workforce, and competitive environment, Caghen values the strong sense of teamwork throughout the organization. He takes pride in ensuring new team members leave projects with more knowledge and confidence than when they arrived. Outside of work, Caghen enjoys spending time with his children, relaxing with a good show, and occasionally playing video games.
For Ivan Ortiz, success starts with teamwork. Since joining Superheat in 2020 as a Field Technician, he has progressed into a Project Manager role, developing both his technical expertise and leadership skills along the way. Ivan was drawn to Superheat by its growth opportunities and innovative use of technology, and he values the commitment his teams bring to every project. He is especially proud of the strong relationship Superheat has built with their clients through consistent performance and reliable support. Outside of work, Ivan enjoys spending time with his family and playing baseball with his children.
