At the core of our operations lies a strong safety culture that involves every team member. Through our SWAT (Safe Work Action Team) initiative and Human Performance Program, we empower our employees to play an active role in maintaining safety standards.
Today, we proudly recognize the outstanding contributions of Ivan Ortiz, Field Technician out of the Houston, TX region, and Jason Hoban, Project Manager out of the Huntington Beach, CA region, our SWAT winners for September 2023. Their unwavering commitment to safety is commendable and sets an excellent example for all of us.
Ivan observed that the scaffold was not signed off for inspection at the beginning of the shift. Based on his findings, corrective action was taken to ensure inspection was completed at the beginning and throughout all shifts.
Jason’s crew was asked to work in the vicinity of a suspended load to connect cables, SmartPoint equipment, and install thermocouples. After a brief site survey with the contractor, it was deemed additional safety measures, reinforcement of the structure, and scaffolding would need to be implemented to minimize any potential risks.
