At Superheat, safety is not just a checklist item; it’s a mindset we bring to every site, every day. Our Safe Work Action Team [SWAT] program is designed to recognize team members who go above and beyond to identify hazards and take action before they become incidents, fostering a culture where speaking up is part of the job.
A recent SWAT recognition goes to Arturo Quezada, Unit Supervisor in Corpus Christi, TX. Arturo observed a 20-inch valve being suspended and repositioned using a single chain fall, with personnel standing in a high-risk area as they attempted to re-anchor the load. Understanding the potential for harm, Arturo intervened, recommending the contractor use a nearby scaffold platform instead, which could be reinforced to support the valve while resetting the rigging safely. The team implemented his suggestion, removing workers from potential danger and securing a safer path forward.
Thank you, Arturo, for taking action and reinforcing what it means to lead with safety. Your awareness and initiative help keep every site safer for everyone!
